Counting down for home – 26 days left on Cyber Monday

I started the counting down for home since the first one was going back to China, on which day was exactly 1 month left for me to stay in Seattle. It is the first working day after he left.

There is no doubt that US is a good place to stay, but it’s absolutely boring. During my stay in Seattle, I’ve been to the most of natural parks, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helen, Levenworth, Olympic National Park, YellowStone National Park, Whidbey Island, etc.

It’s rainy season now, but I don’t like rainy days other than sleeping.

Today is the Cyber Monday, which referred to the Monday immediately following Black Friday, which unofficially marks the beginning of the Christmas online shopping season. Okay, I have a great deal of things to buy during the month before Christmas.

One person is going back from Seattle

The on-shore project is nearly the end. One is going back from Seattle this week. Today is the last working day for him.

Due to the sign-off and escrow time, I have to stay in Seattle till Christmas. Anyway, it is time for counting down. Tomorrow is Nov 23rd, which is the exactly 1 month left.

We (my team) did a very good job in this project, evaluated either Redmond team or Long-Island team. I like the time of working in Redmond.

Thanks for everyone’s help during the days in Redmond, include but not limit to: Yan Gu, Daniel Taylor, Allan Liang, Selina Zhang, Yuanyong Bai, Xiao Wu, Pavel Simsa, Stephanie Bourne, Andrea Lira Lima, Kerry Weatherhead-Shenoy, Kamel Abdul-Rassoul , Shirley Wang, Jim Amorosino, Dave Friedman, Kurt Kopchik, Eusebio Rufian-Zilbermann, etc. – I am really appreciating all of them and enjoyed the time in Redmond.

Although there are tons of problems in this project and product, it was very exciting when seeing the advertisement and poster in the building.

我还是做技术的材料

理由是什么呢?脾气不好。不会善用沟通交际的技巧(就像当初蒋丽这么说我的)

沟通向来是项目中最终要的。但我却不会有效的沟通。

起因是这样的…..

今 天下午K打电话,说他那里出现故障。原因是他按照我写的Setup Guide,却得到了一个错误信息。而我在看了他的错误信息后,确信它没有按照我写的步骤做(最起码没有严格遵循)。我在email里面给他回复的时候, 里面用词很尖锐;有些着重提示的内容,是加粗加色的;还写明了在我的Guide里面,他没没有完成的那一步是在哪页哪行;甚至还用了不同的颜色;并CC全 组。

我不得不承认,K在Communication上做得比我要好很多。K向来是Over-communication的, 这一点Yan也是这么评论的。很快邮件回来了,简单解释了一下。然后在我收到邮件不超过10秒的时候,电话过来了。乐呵呵的告诉我,这个过程不是他做的。 错误信息是别人报告给他的,而且和那个人确认了3次,都是按照我的步骤严格操作的。然后说他周一会自己做一次,然后确认结果。并说,如果那个人没有严格按 照我说的做,那么那个做的就很差了。电话持续了大致15分钟的样子。

其实邮件发出以后,我就已经比较后悔了。觉得与其是不是太强硬了。在接完电话以后,我彻底后悔了。不仅没骂成K,还连累了K的同事,说不定周一K要去骂他的同事了。

不过K的那种态度让我挺意外的,被骂成这样,居然还能笑呵呵的打电话过来。以前在A&B的组里,也因为我问过比较弱质的问题,被他们发邮件回来。我收到这样的邮件或者IM,通常感到心情非常不爽。别说乐呵呵的电话了。每次想到都会觉得不舒服。

A&B他们一直强调,我这个职位要有很强的Problem Solving Skill,Lead更是如此。所以当时,每当遇到问题,都要自己考虑好久,想有没有自己解决的可能。但即便这样,发过去的email还是有被人家轻易就回复回来,并且很BS一把的样子。

在A&B组里,我承认,在communication上,我做的的确挺弱的。在这个组里,我认为我已经有意识的提高了,但仍然频频出现这样的沟通的问题。被Selina多次评价为:没事儿找事~~~

看来我还真只是做技术的材料,不需要考虑这种communication的问题,至少不用那么在意。

郁闷了

同事那天浏览Apple主页的时候,看到了新的iPod Shuffle,只有拇指大。然后我就想到了iPod nano,本来想买的,但是发现美国也不便宜(Apple专卖里2GB的要税前$199.99)。

然后突然发现了CircuitCity里面买的nano只有$149.99(税前),就在犹豫是不是考虑买一个。想了好久,今天早上终于决定买了。

本 来决定用In-Store Pick-up的方式,结果订单到了Final Confirm的时候,却提示我选择的CrossRoads的店不支持In-store Pick-up。明明是看好这种方式的,为啥不支持了呢?然后重新刷新后却发现Bellevue CrossRoads店提示Out of Stock(脱销)。郁闷阿~~~除此之外,最近的Pick-up店面是11Mile外的地方。

找了找看,发现1G黑色、1G白色、2G黑色都有货,只有我想要的2G白色是OOS的。

等到晚上,居然发现,11Mile外的店也OOS了-_-||。怎么这样?我刚决定买,就卖得这么快~~

KAO~~死等Bellevue CrossRoads了。如果一直没有或者涨价,就不买了!!!

Update Sept. 15th: 刚发现,CirciutCity的网上订购只能用本地信用卡,放弃。
